Older homes and strata buildings
Terraces in Paddington and Randwick often have one power point per room, installed decades ago. Adding outlets usually means running new cable through solid brick walls or under timber floors, and we choose the route that does the least damage.
In apartments, it can be hard to get new cable from the switchboard to the outlet. We will check what is possible before quoting and explain any limits caused by the building's structure.
Safety first
A warm, discoloured or crackling power point is a warning sign. Stop using it and call us. Overloading power boards is a common cause of house fires, and adding properly installed outlets is a cheap fix.

Can I replace a power point myself in NSW?
No. In NSW, installing or replacing a power point must be done by a licensed electrician.
Can you add a power point to my balcony?
Usually, yes. We use a weatherproof outlet on a circuit protected by a safety switch. In strata buildings, check whether the balcony wall is common property.
How many power points can you add in one visit?
As many as you need. Tell us how many and where when you call, and we will quote for the whole job.
