Rewiring older Eastern Suburbs homes
Victorian and Federation terraces in Paddington, Woollahra and Randwick are the homes we rewire most often. They have solid brick walls, tight roof spaces and decorative plaster we don't want to damage, so we plan cable routes before we start and use the roof and subfloor wherever we can.
In older apartment blocks, rewiring a unit is usually done circuit by circuit inside the unit. We'll explain what is inside your lot and what is common property.
Partial or full?
Not every home needs a full rewire. We test the existing wiring and tell you which circuits should be replaced now and which are still sound.
House Rewiring FAQs
Can you rewire without damaging ornate ceilings?
In most terraces, yes, by working from the roof space and subfloor. We'll tell you upfront if any patching is unavoidable.
Do I need to move out during a rewire?
Usually not for a partial rewire. For a full rewire, we'll plan the work so you have power overnight wherever possible.
